Today we welcome Susie Taaffe, Body Confidence Expert and founder of Skanties, Anti-Shapewear, dedicated to empowering women to embrace their natural form, reject unnatural beauty standards, and celebrate their unique and beautiful bodies. When Susie’s marriage dissolved in 2015, she took it as a massive call to action. Suddenly a single mother with three young kids under the age of 5, Susie used her manufacturing contacts and design experience to turn her anti-shapewear idea into a global business. Popular in Australia and now hitting the U.S. market, Skanties rejects traditional shape wear’s prolonged body compression and the use of non-breathable synthetic materials that can have harmful effects. We have a great conversation on Susie’s own journey with confidence, body image, and discuss all things shape wear. Enjoy the episode!

Today we welcome online Nutrition Coach and podcast host, Nicole Hagen. For years, Nicole was stuck on the diet culture roller coaster ride, trying to earn worthiness by following rigid food rules, counting calories, eating less, and exercising more. Only to end up exhausted, unhappy, and the farthest from healthy she had ever been. A few wake up calls later, she has now committed her life to helping women live full and vibrant lives without food fear, rules, or restriction. She works to help individuals create eating habits in a healthy and sustainable way.
We have a really wonderful and fun, food positive conversation on nutrition, diet culture, and Nicole’s journey. Today we had the absolute pleasure of speaking to and learning from Rachel Montez Minor, who just released her second children’s book “See You on The Other Side,” on September 26th. Rachel is best known for her work on Broadway, TV, and film but is now focusing on writing and her other passions, including yoga instruction and meditation. These calm, mindful sensibilities are reflected in the new book – and they came to her in the most beautiful and almost magical way – which she shares with us today!
Her new book is a comforting, lyrical story about loss and the reassurance that no one leaves us forever because we always carry their love with us. An emotional topic, Rachel handles it with incredible care and we hope this book will serve as a real resource to kids coping with loss. We had a poignant conversation today on love, loss, and learning how to listen to and trust yourself. We hope you enjoy the episode!

We have a wonderful conversation with Shea Gomez, founder and creator of the online platform: No Booze Babes – offering alcohol free tips, tricks, and sober sips. Shea works to normalize and glamorize an alcohol free life and create community around booze free living. Today on the podcast, Shea shares her journey with alcohol and her decision to give up alcohol entirely. She classifies her previous drinking as “gray area drinking,” that so many young women can relate to. When she realized that alcohol was holding her back from being the best version of herself and after having a bad open bar experience, she committed to a 3 month breath that has now led to 4+ years of sobriety.
