From the minute Julie and I met we were best friends. I always had this joke that I was the devil on the shoulder and she was the angel because she was always bailing me out of trouble. Her family and her home welcomed me in during a time that my own home had become such a place of hardship. I didnt want to remember what it was like to go home because my dad was gone my mom was grieving. Julie and her family were a second family and an escape for me. 

Julie’s death shattered the foundation of my world and it was completely avoidable.
