James S. Gordon, MD, is an American author, psychiatrist and health care advocate, known for his pioneering work in mind-body medicine. In 1991, he founded and is the director of The Center for Mind-Body Medicine in Washington, D.C. He is the former chair of the Alternative Medicine Program Advisory Council and the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Policy.
