If we raise kids that have high self-esteem will this make them less likely to drink alcohol?

This episode is for the parents out there that are feeling scared about their kids becoming teens, going off the rails, drinking cider in farmers fields and putting themselves at risk because of bad teenage choices. This is also for anyone who was this child (lets guess at about 98% of our audience!) was it your low self esteem that caused you to reach for the bottle and would life have been different if our parents had taught us to simply love who we are?
