Today for our souls sake, I sit down with Dr. Lee Watson who is on the front line helping in Ukraine. He has spent a large part of his professional life as an academic, consultant and in the media; but somehow found his way onto a yoga mat several years ago after using exercise as way to combat the kinds of mental health issues that affect more of us than many would readily admit. His accomplishments in academia and as a journalist, combined with a burning desire to give something back led him to want to create Fierce Calm, which delivers and funds free yoga classes in shelters and community spaces to refugees, to survivors of violence and conflict, and people facing systemic bias due to sexual orientation, income, age, racial or cultural identity.Fierce calm provides trauma informed yoga teacher training scholarships for marginalised and minoritised ethnicity students.Dr. Lee shares his own direct experiences on the unique healing abilties of yoga, espeically in relation to people in extreme life experiences. He opens up on his story of healing and what drove him to his very unique purpose after a very succesfull career as an academic and consultant.
