Elis James and John Robins on Radio X Podcast

Elis loves his children. John shouts “revealeth” at pubs. What a pair of legends. For those of you concerned that The Light-Hearted Paper Review has never featured a “central heating special” – consider your prayers answered. There’s also some classic Humblebrags, a sexy Shame Well, a return of John’s Gig Diaries and some FREE #CONTENT!

The Band is back together.

Elis has returned with news of what he’s been up to, mainly being a father (again). John’s had an issue with his iPhone. We all must bear our own cross.

2 exciting competitions, one to win tech prizes and one to name Elis' son. We also ask the question, what do you do with a surfeit of breastmilk?

All this PLUS a Shamewell that will make you walk to Lancaster.

In 255 episodes, have you heard John Robins do an impression of a Dalek? The wait is over. Tim Key played another blinder as he deputised for Elis. There were accusations, challenges, interruptions and pauses. Lovely stuff. All this plus a Somerville Shame Well, a LONG and ghastly Humblebrag and a tasty Made Up Game!

Following some big news from Elis, a super-sub wonder kid was required to step in. Enter: Tim Key. Who knows, some of you might even recognise his voice from LONG ago?? It was a brilliant show as Robins threw open the Weirdness Amnesty once again and Tim went to Rymans. As well as all this, there was a welcome return for a Classic Made Up Game, a sporadic Potato Potato, an unconscious Shame Well and an impromptu Birthday Game!

It was a rather bumsentric show today but don’t let that deter you! It’s full to the brim with John and Elis classics. Clarkson declares war on modern day music and Catfish & the Bottom-men in the paper review, friendships are ruined in the Shamewell and the guys take on another of your made up games.

John can’t stop making soup….

It was a very ratty Robins today, but at least he’s not had any nicotine this year. Why on earth did Elis choose this week to argue with him about Queen??? Still, a smashing show full of gut-wrenching Humblebrags, a stomach-churning Shame Well and an absolute hammer of a Made Up Game!

It’s that time of year again! The festive period means a Best Of show – but don’t worry, there’s plenty of new riffs too, plus a very giddy intro, and John’s ULTIMATE TUBE QUESTION. Get this all up in your ears.

Happy New Year to all you legends!

No Elis today, but John discussed the typical Christmas topics; mirrors, toilet breaks, political trees, and photos of gentlemen’s agreements.

Well there you have it hammer legends. 250 solid gold episodes from Elis & John. The occasion was marked with a stonking live show in London’s Comedy Store! 400 legends took their seats and the live vibe took flight. Majestic. Expect guests, games, shame (obviously), celebration and a generous slice of The Lovely Robin. Lovely stuff.

If Elis says he was working, then he was working ok? Also, if John wants to challenge a listener on whether or not they’re breaking the law; that’s fine too. It was a banger of a show this week, full of festive silliness and anticipation for the big 250! There was a dash of shame, a measure of Humblebrags and a tidy portion of the Paper Review too!
