I am sick and tired of hearing "ADHD is my Superpower"... I know the intention was originally good - although I would argue that it was superficial... like telling someone who's been abused as a child that their are 'strong and can overcome anything'... that's all good on the surface.

'ADHD is my Superpower' is a typical ADHD 'advocate' slogan. But it robs the person of the opportunity to do the deeper work; to see why they behave the way they do. Ultimately, ADHD has an inherently negative, disempowering meaning in society. It's a synonym for 'broken', 'disordered', 'too much', 'troubled', 'unreliable' and yes, even 'lazy'. I suggest we stop telling people who have been diagnosed and are taking meds for ADHD that ADHD is a 'Superpower'... it's the pill. Not the ADHD. ADHD behavior is simply how a brain is currently wired. It can be rewired. The real Superpower is in doing the work to rewire our own brains!
