This week’s episode starts with a brand-new segment, DM in the DMs, where D (M) shares a unique DM she received as a result of being on television again. This week, it has to do with eyebrow transplants...On another note, D can barely contain her excitement as one of her dream guests hops on the mic. Human Dissector Nicole Angemi joins The WoMed for a spook-tacular Halloweekend episode! She speaks about what drew her to the “gross” and how her career in pathology came to be. Her popular Instagram account shows photos of death, near death, accidents, preventable and non-preventable diseases, along with educational information for the everyday person to discover. Seeing something in real life that you normally only see in textbook might only happen once in your career, but with Nicole’s Instagram page, she can deliver an extensive education to masses. She speaks to an incredible by-product of her page, which is combating ableism with knowledge. Nicole then talks about the process of creating her new book, and how she picked which diseases to highlight. While people working in hospitals often only have access to the specimen around them, the following Nicole has amassed gives her access to photos and stories from around the world. For those of you who are a bit queasy, your hosts also discuss Nicole’s other account that highlights how beautiful genetics can be. D and Jac are so excited about this episode, and we hope you enjoy! Happy Halloween!!
