Frans de Waal is a renowned primatologist and ethologist born in the Netherlands in 1948. He is Professor of Primate Behavior in the Department of Psychology at Emory University and Director of the Living Links Center, which is affiliated with the Yerkes National Research Center in Atlanta. He is the author of successful titles such as The Monkey Inside Us, The Age of Empathy and The Bonobo and the Ten Commandments. His research focuses on primate social behavior: conflict resolution, cooperation and rejection of inequality. Frans de Waal is a member of the American Academy of Sciences and the Royal Dutch Academy of Arts and Sciences.
