The energy we are in when we *store* something remains with that thing. This energy then compounds as the item doesn't get used or re-visited. That's why we can feel SO stuck when we confront our own clutter. We are dealing with stagnant energy on top of some past feeling state or version of ourselves. And this is why we tend to avoid it.

For some people, clearing clutter is an almost religious act – their commitment and reverence for the tidiest of spaces is unrivaled; for others, they prefer all their stuff and don't share the "less is more" belief system. And everyone else is somewhere in the middle. Personally, my strategy tends to be more editorial – as in, look for what works well in a space and strengthen it by eliminating unnecessary noise.
