Now, on to this episode. Claire talks about how when she began working in an office, the change in lifestyle correlated with her weight gain. For about 5 years, Lou Claire felt unhappy with herself and turned to binge eating in secret so that she could avoid the shame she felt or the risk of being confronted by her partner.
This took its toll and got to a point where Lou Claire didn’t want to get out of bed and found herself in a quite severe emotional state. Sadly, after enjoying a holiday with her partner Lou Claire experienced verbal abuse from a complete stranger that upset her so much, she made a decision to make changes to her life.
Looking back, in some ways I think Lou Claire is glad this happened from the point of view that so much good has come of it. Over the following 9 months she went on to lose more than 7 stone and reach her objective. She is now much happier and has even won awards at her local slimming club.
