In today’s episode, I’m diving into a topic that’s often overlooked in eating disorder recovery – bone health. Specifically, we’ll be talking about osteoporosis and osteopenia and how an eating disorder can impact your bone mineral density.
As someone who’s personally experienced bone health challenges during my recovery, I’ll share my journey, including the steps I took to restore my bone mineral density and rebuild strength. I’ll also explain the differences between osteoporosis and osteopenia and explain how addressing these issues is important to long-term recovery.
