  4. Set clear expectations with your boss on what you need to do to obtain a promotion
  5. Look and accept offers externally
  6. Ask for feedback on a regular basis
  7. Learn new skills as needed
  8. Take on more responsibility in your current role
  9. Hit and exceed your goals / KPIs
  10. Be the go-to person on your team
  11. Train / mentor new team members
  12. Track your accomplishments and how you overcame major career / job obstacles
  13. Stay engaged
  14. Be positive, when when it's hard
  15. Help other people on your team as appropriate
  16. Solve complex issues with your customers and / or team
  17. Stay away from the gossip and / or politics
  18. Meet deadlines
  19. Be a person people feel comfortable talking to / approachable
