HR Happy Hour - Episode 81 - 'Emotional Intelligence'

The HR Happy Hour kicks off 2011 with a different kind of show, one that will force us, painful as it may be, to take a look at ourselves and be honest about what we see.

This week author and consultant Adele Lynn of the Lynn Leadership Group joins us to talk 'Emotional Intelligence'. You may have heard about Emotional Intelligence, you may think you know what it means, but perhaps have never thought about the importance of Emotional Intelligence from a leadership, organizational or recruiting perspective.

Ms. Lynn will share with her some of the advice and knowledge gained from over a decade studying, consulting, speaking, and authoring several books on the subject of emotional intelligence.

We will discuss an Overview of EQ, what makes a person with a high level of EQ different, and some examples of EQ interactions in everyday life.

We will also dive into the emphasis EQ in the workplace why EQ is important in business, the importance of EQ for HR managers (e.g. how to ensure a high level of EQ in employees/new hire, as well as some tips/strategies for HR Managers on how to foster EQ in the workplace.
