"I'll Be Happy When I Lose Weight..."
Have you ever uttered those words?
We are taught from a very young age that we're supposed to be happy or at least act happy.
Every book you ever read as a kid ends with, "And they lived happily ever after."
All the fairy tales, all the Disney movies—it’s all about the happily ever after.
But then you grow up and realize, wait a minute, was this all a lie? Is it a scam?
The idea that happiness is something we achieve only after reaching a certain milestone—like losing a certain amount of weight—sets us up for a perpetual state of waiting.
This makes us place our happiness in a distant future, always just out of reach, and miss out on the joy that can be found in the present moment...in the work of becoming the person we actually want to be.
Happiness isn’t a destination; it’s a journey.
Today, I want to offer you some useful insights for your weight loss journey, especially around the idea that "over there" is better than "here," that you’ll be happy when you lose the weight, or when the scale says a certain number, or when you’re wearing the size 00 jeans.
Or whatever your next goal size is—2, 4, 6, 8, 10, or whatever.
Let's break it all down together in this episode.
