In case you weren’t aware, there is a zero-tolerance policy for drama in the WoMed community. Today we’re talking about peer incivility and lateral violence, aka, workplace bullying. Unfortunately, this is something so many nurses have to go through, and tensions are even higher as a result of the pandemic. Danielle and Jackie both open up about hurtful situations they’ve been through, and Jackie shares some research she’s discovered in trying to figure out why this drama is so prevalent in the nursing community. They discuss the mental health effects this stress can have on people, what nurses can do to try and make these situations better, and how to approach conversations with your bully directly. They also break down options available to you if you’re facing bullying and want to take action!
