Welcome! and Thank you for listening. This is podcast 500 for me. I have tried to average one podcast a week since the beginning. I have had a few 10 day stretches but for the most part once a week.
The why for my podcast has not changed. To educate people about a healthy lifestyle with regard to nutrition and exercise.
I became a cardiologist because the people I loved most died from cardiovascular disease. Family history certainly plays a role in health both from a genetic and environmental stand point. It has been my mission in my medical practice to understand those risk factors and observe whether modifying lifestyle factors can influence the course of disease. The podcast is an attempt to reach more people with a similar interest. Bringing science and story telling together has been the evolution of the podcast.
It is never too late to make a change towards better health. I hope this podcast has inspired that sentiment. I plan to expand the podcast by adding a monthly live podcast as a live discussion of questions for would be patron members. This will begin in January on the first Friday of the month.
