When it comes to coaching there can be a lot of growth, mind stretching, and emotional maturing that takes place as old beliefs are questioned and replaced with new ones that create different results. We can definitely do a lot of cognitive growing on our own, but partnering with our Heavenly Parents is how we can do it so that our results are greater than we could ever imagine.

The unique perspective of all the coaches here on the Latter-day Life Coaches Podcast is that we can take all the tools of life coaching and filter them through the lens of the gospel. This added filter helps those of us who have clients that believe in God and want to combine coaching and the gospel do that in a seamless way. In this final episode of 2022, Heather Rackham, the host of the podcast, shares some of her biggest takeaways from the year. Heather expounds on the importance of bringing God into our lives and how when we partner with him and our Heavenly Mother, things just get so much better. In the spring of 1820, the question by a young boy about which church he should join opened the Restoration of the gospel and allowed God to once again speak to men on earth. If Joseph Smith had never had that question, where would your life be today?

Even though our religion was brought back to earth through a question, we as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints often have a lot of fear around asking questions. Many fear asking questions will draw them away from God instead of closer to Him. Coach Meagan Skidmore found herself several years ago in a position where her faith and her lived reality did not match up and she had a lot of questions. This put Meagan on a very unknown path and what she found is that as she turned to God with her questions her faith deepened. She wants to share that same hope with others who have questions and show them how questions can be a great tool one uses to expand and grow their faith. Many of us have read or are familiar with the famous book A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. The story follows one fateful Christmas Eve for Ebineser Scrooge. That evening four ghosts pay him a visit. His old friend Marley, The Ghost of Christmas Past, The Ghost of Christmas Present, and the Ghost of Christmas Future. Each ghost has an important lesson for Mr. Scrooge and that evening changes his life.

Well, this story by Dickens is not just meant to be a story of a man learning how to change his ways and create a new life. It has deep and significant meaning for each of us as well. Almost every mature woman on this earth has a menstrual cycle and many of those women will have menstrual cycles on a monthly basis for an average of forty years of their lives. But knowing these facts has not helped society at large come to better understand the menstrual cycle and how to track it so that women can be functioning at their highest energy levels and resting at their lowest. Thus, so many women feel defeated because of their menstrual cycle and are therefore not reaching their highest potential.

Coach Jody Long focuses on coaching women with ADHD and chronic overwhelm. In her work with these women she has found that having them track their cycles and learn their body's natural ebbs and flows can help them perform better and understand themselves so they can have compassion instead of self loathing. So many times in life, a solution is found when someone is ready for a solution or is allowed to come up with a solution on their own. Allowing a teen who is struggling with anxiety to desire help or voice what they need can be difficult for parents and even cause the parent to have anxiety about their child's anxiety.

Coach Daelene Byam helps teens and young adults who struggle with anxiety and she has found that parents have the most success when they don't try to push help and change onto their child but allow space and time for the child to come to them for help. She speaks encouragingly to parents who have children who struggle with anxiety and gives some great tips on the podcast so a child's anxiety is much less likely to cause parental anxiety.

We can often get swept up in doing all the "things" and when we are doing all said "things" and our lives start not going as planned, we can believe there is something wrong with us.
