Let's get real about Self Love: what it truly means & how to do it

Self love - it’s thrown around like a bit of a BUZZ word, but how do we actually do it? And what does it actually mean?


If you don't already realise that this can be your super power, you're in for a hella episode! Today I debunk the spas, facials & 'self-care' activities often painted as the sweet picture of self love, and get to the core & essence of what it truly means. PLUS I will share with you how to adopt it as a perspective, a mindset, so it's not something you need to allocate time in your week to do, like a chore on your list.


Reflective Qs to determine if you have self love

  1. Do I speak kindly to myself and treat myself with compassion and respect?
  2. Do I set boundaries and advocate for my own needs and desires?
  3. Do I take care of my physical, emotional, and mental well-being?
  4. Do I forgive myself for my mistakes and imperfections?
  5. Do I embrace my unique qualities and strengths?
  6. Do I allow myself to feel a full range of emotions, including happiness, sadness, anger, and joy?
  7. Do I have a positive relationship with my body and practice self-acceptance?
  8. Do I make time for self-care and prioritize my own well-being?


Journal Prompts to assess your level of Self Love at the end of the day

  1. How did I speak to myself today? Was it kind and compassionate, or did I engage in self-criticism or negative self-talk?
  2. Did I set boundaries and advocate for my own needs and desires today? If not, what can I do differently tomorrow?
  3. How did I take care of my physical, emotional, and mental well-being today? What can I do to prioritize self-care tomorrow?
  4. What mistakes or imperfections did I forgive myself for today? How did this help me feel more loving towards myself?
  5. What unique qualities or strengths did I embrace today? How did this make me feel?
  6. How did I allow myself to feel and express a full range of emotions today? What emotions did I experience, and how did I cope with them?
  7. How did I feel about my body today? What self-care practices can I engage in to improve my relationship with my body?
  8. What self-care activities did I do today? How did they make me feel?
