When you consider going in and processing your emotions- what comes up for you? Do you have fear around what feeling your emotions might create?
You're not a lone in that fear.
Many people (because of the way we have heard it all our lives) have been taught that emotions aren't meant to be felt. Many of you were told as kids that you shouldn't feel angry, or sad, or even feel love. So you taught yourself that emotions were not safe.
However, in orer to get the things we desire most in life (like true meaningful fullfilment) it requires our willingness to feel the discomfort. It requires us to feel ALL our emotions. And no I'm not saying we need to think through our emotions- we need to learn how to actually go inside and feel them in our body.
So how? How do we make this shift after so many years of thinking and beleiving our emotiosn weren't safe?
First- we have to recognize that our emotions are probably 'asleep' and 'hiding'. We have to have the patience to go in and allow our emotions to be noticed. It will take time.
And second- we need to start doing what I call emotional sprints.
Emotional sprints are where we just pick a short period of time to go inside and build up your trust and safety for one emotion. It can be 2 minutes, 4 minutes... whatever feels safe for you to start. Then practice for that amount of time, going inside and FEELING that emotion- practice letting it come out.
Building safety and trust in ourselve and our emotions is so important. It's the way to a fulfilling life.

Emotions don't come from thoughts.
This is something I have been playing around with more and more recently.
Now of course, the idea that thoughts create our emotions is a great tool to help us get leverage. For example
When I think I'm doing a bad job- I can feel shame
When I think something might go wrong- I might feel fear.
However, there's also times that I'm sure you've experienced, where you experience an emotion and you have no idea why. And yet, you spend time trying to figure out the story or thought that might be creating that emotion. It doesn't work.
Emotions are created by a combination of body, mind and environment. Learning and understanding this can help us stop trying to 'fix' emotions, but learning to more fully be aware, validate and accept them.
Today I want to share the model I use to get you out of your head, and focusing on the thoughts and more focused on your emotions. Check it out. 🤯

I've noticed this myth out there when it comes to self-help gurus. The myth is that all you need is to think better thoughts.
When you're feeling frustrated- think a positive thought.
When you're feeling down- think a postive thought.
And while I understand that thought work is amazing- this myth is keeping a lot of you stuck.
Thought work is the beginning of awarenss for so many people. But the awareness actually helps us to understand the thing we need to focus more on- the emotion side of things.
We need to see the thoughts, acknowledge them, but then we need to feel the emotions. That is why when we try to think postively or practice affirmtions- they're 'not working' because we haven't done the work to really process the original thought and emotions first.
Start with noticing the emotion you're having but then we have to acknowledge the emotion that is coming up with the thought and feel and relax into that. Stay there.
This episode can help you understand what thought work is and why it doesn't work- and how to actually focus on what does. 👍🏻

During this week of love, we're going to dive into one of the most commonly avoided emotions- grief. So fun right? However, grief is one of those emotions that if we all learned to allow more of in our lives, we would have so much more love and fulfillment in our lives.
It's the requirment to feel and allow BOTH.❤️
This episode can help you understand what grief is, where you might be avoiding it and what to do to change that. And don't forget...this takes time AND practice. 👍🏻

One of the biggest hangups I see with clients is their lack in ability to make decisions.
They leave so many decision up to chance and wonder why they're exhausted all the time.

So many are afraid to fail because of how it feels and what they make it mean.
However, what most don't realize is that fear is just leading them to fail ahead of time.
Failure happens whether we control it or not.
The difference is one helps us to progress, and the other keeps us stuck.
So if we're ultimately going to fail, why not fail progressively.
Let's discuss this concept today.

We often can get right into creating new goals and anticpating a new year.
And yet, we can also find that goals fizzle out really quickly.
I believe I know why.
We are working to creating a new year from lack, fear, and frustration.
We are upset with how things were and ashamed of what we didn't do or change.
This doesn't work.
I have the one thing you need to do today before taking one more step with your goals this year.
Do this before you do anything else.
