There’s a real sense of pride when you do something yourself. Sure outsourcing can be relieving but there’s a tonne of research into how we value things we build ourselves. There’s even something called The IKEA Effect according to Dr Marny Lishman. We can take the pride we get from building things ourselves, and apply it to our personal lives; cause we’re building them every day!
