  • 1020 || winter blues

    fighting the winter blues takes a lil honesty, and a lotta realistic reevaluation of the shit you say yes to. let go what isn't serving you + set reasonable expectations (by communicating them openly) so you can enjoy the holiday season, rather than dread it.

  • 1019 || the power of a guild

    guilds let us work smarter than harder. they remind us that EVERYTHING is connected. the more disconnected it becomes - the harder the work gets. So let things work as a community, let things support, and you can settle into a "support" style as well. You are a PART to the whole. Let yourself fall into place.

    At the end of the day, shit happens. Learning to look at the reality that "change is gonna come" makes approaching the inevitable change a hell of a lot easer. Your life is a garden. Learn to like the gardening. Let your systems work together. You are not an island.

  • 1015 || permaculture principles + what we can learn from them

    permaculture is an "approach to land management and settlement design that adopts arrangements observed in flourishing natural ecosystems. It includes a set of design principles derived using whole-systems thinking" and we can learn a lot from the principles. By learning to observe, connect, reframe, reevaluate, refocus, and rewild - we also learn how to build a more sustainable relationship with our daily life.

  • 1013 || liberated by authenticity

    acceptable does not equal valuable. acceptable does not equal loved. if we know who we are and how we show up - what we have to show up for, begins to matter a hell of a lot less. when we live authentically, we become happier. the mask we wear to "fit in" is great - but the more inauthentic it is, the heavier it feels. take it off as often as you can - so you can embrace the liberation from life without it.

    the societal expectations on us is confinement. free yourself by getting vulnerable and being YOU.

  • 1012 || imagination vs. memory

    we consider memory making as "accurate, dispassionate, real" but our memory is a form of imagination. not to say it's unreliable or we should ignore those memories - but we should recognize the flexibility that exists within it. our ability to remember is limited to our sense of self. only when we expand our sense of self will we be able to embrace the full spectrum of our identity.

  • 1011 || time traveling sense of self

    our sense of self involves "time traveling". we must be open to listening to the past, envisioning the future, and accommodate to the present. by doing so, we expand our sense of self to align within this current time. how does the sense of self affect how we behave? how does our self referential identity create our reality? and do we have a say in changing it?
