Meet Constantine Hering
Constantine Hering is attributed for many research works, but is most noted for his work including observations of the healing process, known as “Hering’s Law of Cure”.
• He observed that the body seeks to externalize disease, (pushing the disease to the outside of the body, the skin) He noted that symptoms will surface as part of the curative process.
“From Within Outward”
• He also noted that a person’s symptoms appear and disappear in the reverse order of their appearance upon the body. So, a patient might re-experience symptoms during the healing process.
“From Most Recent to Oldest”
• His Final observation was that the body heals from top to bottom, and from more vital organs to less vital organs.
“From Above to Below; From Most Important Organ to Least Important”
These guiding principles “Laws of Cure” are used in helping homeopaths to understand whether a patient’s health is improving or deteriorating.
He is also noted for the Proving of several remedies:
1. Lachesis, the bushmaster snake.
2. Gelsemium
3. Iodum
4. Apis
Hering’s motto was: “The force of gentleness is great.”
