Bob Hearn - super smart ultra-runner and recent winner by more than a day of The Heart of The South 350 mile race, joins me for a great chat about ultra-ultra distance races.  (Is that a term?)   Until last lear, I thought Cocodona was the longest race, but I was just learning.  There's a whole other spectrum of longer distances, from 6 days on a track to journey type point to point runs.  "A vacation without a car".  Bob has a PHD in Computer Science from MIT, so he's pretty smart, and he has won numerous ultras around the world, so he is pretty fast and durable as well.  He discusses his story from his first 10k to his recent win at HOTS.  I think you will enjoy his perspective and help me celebrate because episode 45 marks the 1 year anniversary of Miles With Marty!!  Thank you so much for your support.  I hope you like the little change in format!  LMK.

Bronze Dragonfly recap episode with Kim Pasienza, who took 1st place female in the nighttime 12 hour event in her first ultra!!  And Judie Reynolds, who ran the 30 hour event and got her 1st buckle!  Both of these ladies have awesome stories and are incredible humans!  They are shining examples of the awesome ultra-running community.

Episode 41 features coffee and conversation with Luis Cocco.  He's Race Director for Miami Ultra Runners series.  We cover many topics starting with the Miami 50/50, which my buddy Jim Miller and I will be running next weekend.  Can't wait to tour Miami on foot because I have never been there.  We also discuss the Miami 100/125 and Ride the Wave 50k, as well as the Space Pirate 100 and 33.3.

Join me for a rare chat with a fellow Georgia resident.  Patrick Reagan as an elite ultra - runner, coach, musician, and just an all around cool dude!  I watched him cruise to a Georgia state 100 mile record at Bronze Dragonfly a few weeks ago and wow!  He made it look effortless.  It was a real joy to hear his story and listen to him share about his PR races including a 12:20ish hundo.  He talks coaching, fueling, and even shares a bit of his passion for music.  There may or may not be a soundbyte borrowed from IG at the end.  wink wink.  Check it out!

In Episode 37, I chat with Kerry Dulina and Dan Hernandez.  They are co-race directors and owners of Rough Runners - Run 4 a Reason.  They have several races in the Savannah, Georgia area including this coming weekend at Lake Mayer.  It's the Bronze Dragonfly with 3, 6, 12, 24, and 30 hour options around a 1.4 mile certfied track with part asphalt and part rubberized surface.  They put on epic races and with each race they find a way to give back to the community.  They are a shining example of the type of people that our ultra-running community are made up of.  Their passion for helping others is inspiring and infectious to those around them.  Check it out and go check their races out!
