  • Listener Questions: Adrenal fatigue, body image and the fear of gaining weight
This is part TWO of an interview I did on the Well-Fed Women Podcast with Noelle Tarr. Make sure you listen to Part 1 for an overview of what adrenal fatigue really is (spoiler alert: it’s not your adrenals getting ‘tired’ and stopping their production of cortisol, your primary stress hormone). I’ve had a lot of people reaching out to me about adrenal fatigue lately, so I wanted to share this episode where we answered a lot of your questions about how to heal from adrenal fatigue and manage chronic stress!
In this Part 2 (Listener Questions) episode, we’re covering:

The best supplements for adrenal fatigue
    * Should you use adaptogens for adrenal fatigue?
    What about exercise?
The impact of CrossFit and intense exercise on our stress hormones
How to know when you’re fully recovered from AF
How to measure your progress in recovery from hormonal imbalances
Once you get it, do you have adrenal fatigue forever?
Why holding on to the idea of weight loss will prevent you from truly healing from adrenal or other hormonal issues

PS – Are you ready to let go of negative body image? Inside this FREE 4 Day Body Image Detox Challenge, we’ll share with you how to ditch the negative self-talk, unpack your deep-rooted beliefs around food and your body, and why right now the thoughts about food and our bodies are on overdrive. Stop fighting with your body and start living with ease. What are you waiting for? Join us for the FREE 4-day Body Image Detox Challenge here!

  • The myth of balance, moderation, and how to ditch the all-or-nothing mentality around food with Kris Dovbniak (Part 2)
This week we’re back for a part 2 episode with Kris Dovbniak! On last week’s episode we talked about Kris’ journey from restriction, overexercising, and even competing in fitness competitions to making a full recovery with her relationship with food and her body. On this episode Kris talks about what it’s like to go through the intuitive eating counselor training, the myth of balance, and how “balance” and “moderation” are just another form of food restriction. Kris is also giving some practical tips on how we can move away from the all-or-nothing, morality-driven mentality around food.
In case you missed last week’s episode (check it out here!), Kris is the certified holistic health coach, certified intuitive eating counselor and trained chef behind Healthy Mama Kris, and the Healthy Balanced Mama Podcast.

  • Cutting out foods won’t fix your skin issues, and the gut-skin connection with Jennifer Fugo
Jennifer Fugo is the guest on today’s episode and we’re talking all things skin and skin issues! Jennifer is an integrative clinical nutritionist with a master’s in Human Nutrition, who focuses her practice on a functional approach to chronic skin rash conditions. We’re getting a little nerdy talking about the gut-skin connection, leaky skin, the connection between skin issues and the thyroid, and – in the age of “food is medicine” and diets that proclaim (very loudly) how an elimination diet can fix anything and everything, Jennifer is digging into why cutting out foods from your diet alone won’t fix all your skin issues.

  • How disordered eating behaviors impact your health, digestion, and hormones with Victoria Myers
In this episode, we’re chatting about where evidence-based nutrition guidelines and breaking free of dieting, improving your relationship with food and your body intersect. Which, as you guys know, is exactly my philosophy and what I try to do every episode on this podcast, so I’m really excited to have Victoria Myers on the podcast today! Victoria is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist whose goal is to inspire and educate her community to understand intuitive eating, how that connects to digestive and hormonal health, respect their bodies and let go of the perfectionist mindset. Her information is catered to women with the unhealthy obsession with eating healthy, as Victoria herself once struggled with this and now helps others break free from the health and wellness world that has become diet centric.
The focus of today’s episode today is about how the behaviors we engage in around food and exercise, whether that be chronic dieting, disordered eating, restricting our food, or eating disorders, impact us on a deep, physiological level – and how those behaviors can manifest in physical symptoms like digestive and hormonal issues. Victoria and I then talk about how we can approach these clinical manifestations from a non-restrictive approach, so you don’t get caught back up in the diet cycle that got you here in the first place.
LISTEN TO REAL TALK WITH DANA ON ITUNES, STITCHER, SPOTIFY, OR ANYWHERE PODCASTS CAN BE FOUND!
