Momentum for the Entrepreneurial Personality Type (EPT)

There's a recurring issue we see in our coaching program, entrepreneurs creating overwhelm for themselves. Even after we put our systems in place to lower the pressure and noise in their life, they almost immediately want to add something new they can chase. They start feeling the momentum and want to do more. They don't realize that adding more usually slows the business's growth down and distracts their team. They get shiny object syndrome and try to do it all, but fail to realize that they can chase one thing with a tremendous amount of simplicity to 7 and 8 figures.

Sometimes the most important thing to do in our business is to create space for what's coming next. You're constantly going to be changing and growing, which is a good thing because if you don't grow as an entrepreneur, the business won't grow. Remember that every time you say yes to something, you're saying no to a bunch of other things. As soon as things start going well, don't create new overwhelm. Life will overwhelm you already. Like attracts like, if you're overwhelmed you're going to develop more overwhelm. Begin removing the things in your life that aren't producing momentum and don't allow yourself to put up with more. Optimize and put effort into what you're already doing, and your business will grow like crazy. Life will already overwhelm you, don't add to it.

We just had the close of our second full year in business. The last six months have been exceptional for us. Our company has been growing like crazy. One of the major things we've focused on is planning. I always say that if you don't have a plan, you're going to be the biggest bottleneck. We've used our strategic planning process to coach 100's of millions of dollars in growth with our clients. Another thing we've really cracked down on is documentation of key processes and simplifying everything we possibly can to scale.

To put things into context, in September of last year, we pulled all of our paid marketing so I could get out of sales and delivery. As a result, we grew our team to 15 people and had our most profitable year yet. We also launched our newest product, Billionaire Code Foundation. We started the Foundation with a small beta group. Our goal was 25 sales, and we ended at 32, with NO paid marketing. In the past few months, we also dealt with some serious health issues with my wife, Cadey. With my wife out of commission and me working at 30% productivity, our business still grew thanks to our incredible team. I can't stress this enough...having the right team is everything.

We're currently at a $3 million run rate and on our way to the $3 - $10 million growth phase on the Billionaire Code. Stepping into this leader phase and delegating success has led us to have an amazing team culture. But the biggest and most exciting thing that has happened in the last two years is our client success stories. So many of our clients are exploding and hitting new milestones. A few episodes ago, we discussed why some employees torch the place on their way out. In this podcast, we talk about what to do when it happens. People who threaten your business when they go are looking for a way to justify leaving. It's that simple. They need to place blame on you, or the company, and come up with a reason to leave the team rather than just walking away.

The more you react to someone torching the place on the way out, the more damage that will be done in your business. Any emotional reaction you have is going to unsettle your team, don't let one person leaving trigger everyone. Calm your reaction and remember this is part of being an employer. Building relationships is your job, and sometimes they fall apart. Know nothing is perfect, and there will be times ahead with massive challenges. Prepare yourself for someone torching the place on the way out. Know it's going to happen and remember not to react. Understand it's about the position you're in, and that you're not alone. It happens even to the best of us; it's part of life.

At some point in their career, every entrepreneur has felt like they were special, different, or unique. I have news for you, I'm not a unicorn, and neither are you.
