  • 57 - A Shortcut for Immediate Momentum

Every Evolutionary Hunter loses momentum. Some days it is difficult to make forward progress, others it feels like the world is literally working against you. When the right combinations of things go wrong, it can make us feel like we are in full constraint and the feeling is almost immediately overwhelming. Even though I discovered the Entrepreneurial Personality Type and the theory of the Evolutionary Hunter, it does not prevent this from happening to me. I have days where I feel like I am running through molasses that is getting thicker. No matter how hard I try, it feels like I can't make progress. Don't be surprised, this happens to all of us. When I was younger sometimes I would spend days feeling this way. That doesn't happen anymore because I discovered the evolutionary hack that puts every Entrepreneurial Personality Type back into momentum almost immediately. Try this and prove it to yourself.

  • 56 - Transactional Management vs Transformational Leadership

Growing a business through transactional management is overwhelming, exhausting, and will rob you of your momentum.

Managing transactionally means you do the following:

Tell people what to do -> make sure it got done -> tell them what to do again…

This won't only wear you out, but you will chase away A players and people who can help grow your company fast. Unfortunately, you will only hold onto the most loyal for those who don't have the talent to go somewhere else. This will cause your company to stagnate and for you as an entrepreneur to feel like you are doing everything.

When you transition to transformational leadership, the process is completely different:

People clear outcomes -> coach them along the way -> get leveraged results…

This will change the dynamic of your entire business because instead of you as the owner and entrepreneur trying to grow everything, each person becomes an owner of the outcomes they are creating.

  • 55 - The Tactics of Playing to Win

The majority of Entrepreneurial Personality Types don't play to win, they play not to lose. This may sound like the same thing but it isn't. Unfortunately far too many of us make a commitment to an outcome or a goal and immediately begin de-escalating that commitment. This is clearly playing not to lose and will rarely get you what you want.

If you set a goal that you are committed to, prove it to yourself by consistently escalating your commitment. Play to win and you will achieve your goals and so much more.

  • 54 - The CEO's Secret Weapon

I started seeing an EMDR therapist when I was 26 years old. I used to park behind his building and walk around the front because I was afraid someone would see my car. I was terrified someone would know I was going to a therapist and would see it as a sign of weakness. I went in nervous and apprehensive and I walked out feeling better than I thought I should have only after one session. It was like someone had immediately dialed down the pressure and noise I was feeling.

It wasn't until I was in my early 30s that I finally shared this with one of my clients. He shared with me that he had had panic suicidal thoughts and didn't know what to do so I broke my silence and let him know that I used EMDR therapy to lower pressure and noise. He called me about a week later and told me how amazing his first EMD our session was. He said he felt lighter walking out of the room then when he walked in, I knew exactly what he meant.

Since then, I have shared this with hundreds of entrepreneurs and I continue to get positive feedback. Almost all of my private clients use EMDR therapy as needed or regularly to help them create momentum and offload pressure and noise.

  • 53 - The Real Problem with Millennial's

Millennial's and younger entrepreneurs have made an impression on today's marketplace. Unfortunately, the conclusions that the market has come to are for the most part incorrect.

A simple Google search on "millennial's and work" turn up titles like: - Eight Reasons Millennial's Seem Lazy At Work - Do millennials Have A Lesser Work Ethic? - The Problem With The Millennial's And Work Ethic

There are of course some articles that are not negative however the overall consensus seems to be that millennial's are lazy, don't want to work, and are incredibly difficult to motivate.

The real problem with millennial's is perception, it's true that millennial's don't want to work if they don't feel like it matters. But in my experience, millennial's will do anything for work the matters.

The world is changing at an accelerated rate, human beings are evolving faster than we ever had and this is all being driven by the younger generation.

When it comes to millennial's, I learn as much as I coach and teach.

  • 52 - Immediately Lower Overwhelm, Acceleration and Fight or Flight

As Evolutionary Hunters we have preprogrammed to be more sensitive to the world around us. When there is low pressure annoys, our ability to see what other people don't see and this hypervigilance helps us create extraordinary outcomes in the world.

When the pressure and noise in our lives go up, our sensitivity becomes reactivity and the world can begin moving too fast. Some of us we feel overwhelmed, some feel a sense of acceleration and eventually, all of us can transition into flight or flight mode.

If we can change our state, we can very quickly work our way back to momentum. The problem for most of us is we do the opposite. Rather than actively changing our state, we push harder and unfortunately often make the situation worse.

We can use our evolutionary instincts to quickly change our state and shift our perspective.

  • 51 - The Simplest Rules for Entrepreneurial Success

Everything I can to simplify concepts for entrepreneurs to create success. This is one of the simplest.

People like us are deliberate when we make major decisions in life. We don't typically enter into things lightly and we finally choose a partner it is life changing. Far too many entrepreneurs forget how important this choice was and do not put enough energy into their marriage or relationship and inevitably this affects our momentum and success period

When I was younger I was confused enough that I often saw dedication to a marriage as either a weakness for a constraint. As I gained perspective throughout my career I realized that dedication to a marriage or relationships critical to - And more importantly - drives our success.

  • 50 - Absolute Reliance on People

Billionaires don't just occasionally lean on other people; they absolutely rely on them to make it through each day. From personal assistants to the members of the board, billionaires cultivate fantastic professional relationships so they can rely on them when they need it most.

Here's why: No single individual could create the leverage and momentum necessary to create billions of dollars in value.

It's the billionaire who asks for and offers protection and support because they know that entrepreneurs accomplish almost nothing alone, and we all move forward faster together.

  • 49 - Entrepreneurs and Panic Attacks

It's time we start talking about this out in the open, sharing our experiences, and letting each other know that there is nothing wrong with us. It is very common for entrepreneurs to have panic attacks and even suicidal ideation. It usually shocks and scares us, and can come out of nowhere. One of my clients described a particularly bad day where he… Woke up late… Fought with his wife… Had a conflict with one of his kids… Got to the office and had to put out several fires… Had two clients call in and cancel deals… And got a letter from the IRS... He was then driving to a lunch meeting and there was a split-second where he thought about turning left in front of a bus headed towards him and making it all go away. When he told me about it he said: "I can't believe I had that thought but it was there and it scared the hell out of me."

This is more common in most of us admit. I know I have been there. Just this week two of my private clients had relatively severe panic attacks. Both of them have thriving seven-figure businesses, happy families, and incredible lives. It can happen to any of us. We are momentum based beings who are driven to go forward and accomplish. When the pressure and noise gets too high in our lives it can cloud our outcomes and make us feel like we don't know where we are going.

  • 48 - The Primal Walk, A Simple Habit That Changes Everything

In my research of successful people, it was shocking how often the subject of feet came up. Einstein and Jobs both refused to wear shoes unless absolutely necessary because they both thought it affected to their creativity. Tesla used to curl his toes and do foot exercises each night before he went to bed to unlock problem-solving capabilities. Chinese medicine regards the feet as a pathway to the rest of the body and shows how they can be used to both diagnose and treat just about any health issue.

The feet have been seen as a gateway to consciousness, health, and longevity by a variety of cultures around the world. The more feet came up in my research, the more I followed this tangent and the more I was rewarded. My primal foot program is a complete guide to regaining your feet, flexibility, and physiology. The primary activity in this program is the Primal Walk. While this sounds simple, the primal walk may just change your life, and radically increase your level of success.
