Entrepreneurial Personality Types are driven by the need for momentum and for progress but we are highly reactive to constraint. We are the small subpopulation of humanity that drives our evolution, but we can go from looking talented to disordered in a moment. When we don't understand this reactivity to constraint it can confuse us, cause us to judge ourselves, and hold us in place. When we understand ourselves better, we know we are not motivated by the rest of the world, and we can move forward and accomplish. When we release the judgment the rest of the world imposes on us and realize that we are driven by the need for momentum and contribution, we create the outcomes that we want in the world. Great entrepreneurs throughout history have proven, regardless of the diagnosis or disorder or even physical limitation, we can change the world.
Let me confirm your suspicions, you are not like the rest of the world. You are driven to move forward, hardwired to contribute and you need, momentum. People like us are physically, cognitively, and chemically wired to challenge the status quo and create new outcomes in the world. When the crowd is going in one direction, we are compelled to go in the other. While the rest of the world strives for average and clings to the status quo, we get up every day to imagine a greater future, and demand it becomes real. What is this evolutionary quality that compels us forward? You are an evolutionary hunter. Welcome to the most important club in history. There is nothing wrong with you, and you are not alone. Entrepreneurs are wired different than the rest of the population. This causes conflict and sometimes makes it difficult for us to get along. It may even get some of us in trouble. Once we understand what drives us forward, our perception of what is possible changes.
There is a reason society looks at entrepreneurs the way that they do. Society's view of people like us is not a necessarily positive one. Entrepreneurs have denied this forever but it is true. If you win in baseball you go to the World Series... Football the Super Bowl, write the best selling song and you will get a Grammy, best play on Broadway gets a Tony, the most successful entrepreneurs in the world are called the 1%. There is an evolutionary reason we are misunderstood and judged by the rest of the world, let me share it with you
This is the introduction to the Entrepreneurial Personality Type and how the content that has gotten the most exposure in my career has been a struggle to monetize, until now. The content flowed through me after sitting down to write a book called Constructive Company. When I reached the point in the proposal that was about the audience, 200 words turned into 25,000 and the Entrepreneurial Personality Type was born. This is for the most misunderstood and brilliant among us. If you are listening, you are most likely one of them although you may have felt isolated and like a party of one. You are actually part of the most important club in history. I can prove it to you.
