Welcome to Part 2 of the conversation with Michael! This week, your hosts dive into his experience with the healthcare industry, which goes beyond just the grieving widower he is labeled as. He talks about his appreciation for nurses, and how he believes they are the backbone of healthcare. He also is incredibly educated on the faults in the system, but expresses how everyone is just reacting to something they’re being forced to do; while everyone wants to villainize part of the chain, it doesn’t work that way. He also discusses his FDA approved patent (casual) which he developed with his late wife for a topical therapeutic that would offset a treatment side effect, Hand-foot syndrome. Building a lab in his basement, he ran a small clinical trial, submitted his patent in 2019, and received it just a few months ago. Reducing the suffering of others with this therapeutic, that worked for his wife, is one of the many ways she lives on. This episode truly offers a look into Michaels heart, and we are so grateful to him for having this conversation with The WoMed community.
