Merrilee Jacobs, Producer has a background by education and in experience in healthcare administration, and in the food industry by entrepreneurial venture which brought a unique perspective to the subject of food and health. Growing up, my family was not vegetarian, however after my maternal grandmother died of colon cancer, my mother began to investigate how to prevent. This was in the early 70's. Through seminar given by a panel of physicians, one in particular promoted the idea of vegetarianism - so she came home and stopped preparing meat at home- although we ate it when we went out to eat. I had bouts of vegetarianism personally in my younger years and finally gave it up with exception of fish when I had my first child. but I loved dairy - didn't give that up until our production team made the switch to a WFPB diet. ...and the rest is history!
