In this conversation with chat with Ella Pike the “Breath Boss”. Ella is co-founder of the Breath Haus a space for Breath Work and Meditation located in both Melbourne and Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast.
Ella shares her journey from a chaotic and insecure past into becoming the breathwork facilitator she is today. She share the importance of breathwork and how it can support us, emphasizing the challenges of embracing stillness and vulnerability we have as humans but particularly as single parents. While Ella is not a Mum herself she discusses the impact of being raised by a single mum and the lessons she learned from her mother and how that has shaped large parts of her life.
We chat with Ella about the significance of self-care and prioritising oneself, especially for mothers and how breathwork can help manage stress, anxiety, and find inner calm. If you have never heard of or practiced breath work before we hope this conversation gives you an insight into why Rach and Jess speak so highly of its practice. Thankyou for joining us Ella!

In this conversation we chat with Christine Kelly, a single mother of four who shares her experiences of raising her kids alone over 30 years ago. She talks about her unique upbringing, where she was raised by her grandparents and believed her mother was her sister until she got married. This unusual childhood helped shape her strong and resilient personality when raising her 4 children alone.
The landscape of single parenting has changed so much over the years and Christine gives an insight into what it was like raising her children on her own not knowing another single mum within her community. She shares how being consistent and simply “getting on with things” was how she managed to raise successful, independent children on her own. Who a few years ago were able to retire Christine to say thank you for all that she did as a single mother for them. Thankyou for joining us Christine and sharing your mothering journey.
