Dr. Natasha Datoo specializes in pediatric palliative care and oncology. She views it as a tremendous privilege to help people find peace in these moments and speaks highly of Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, a pediatric palliative care provider which offers interdisciplinary, specialized care to over 800 children living with life-threatening illnesses. She spends much of her time there educating and training other physicians on pediatric palliative care. In today's episode, Dr. Datoo shares how she got into this field and why it should never feel easy. Danielle also opens up about a death that has stuck with her from her time in the NICU. Dr. Datoo speaks to the strength of the parents who are going through this alongside their children and the importance of educating doctors on proper communication, which is absolutely vital and must be executed properly to avoid harm.
