Fan Mail: Tell Wendy how you're saying yes to yourself!
Hello friends! This week on the say YES to your yourself! podcast Wendy talks with the enchanting Marvell Eagleson. She shares that from a young age a passion for travel was ignited and it led her to study and teach foreign languages.
Wendy and Marvell discuss how after retirement she found she was no longer using her French language skills and chose a 3-month trip to Rouen to reconnect with her love of the language de France. She was called to say YES to stepping out of her comfort zone and embracing the opportunity to let go of barriers and get out of her own way!
They also talk about giving yourself the gift of letting go of our preconceived ideas about what others are thinking or where they are coming from. Her mother guided her with the motto and idea of 'why not!'
Give to yourself and feed your Spirit! Be open, be resourceful, be genuine and it will all work out as it should.
Get to Know Marvell
Marvell was born and raised in a farming community near Vancouver BC. Her mother was an adventurer and when she was 13 they drove from BC to near Mexico City and her love of travel was born!
Later in life she and her husband settled in Iowa where she was a stay at home mom who pursued her teaching degree focusing on foreign languages, and started teaching in her late 40s. It was on a 6 week summer program to France, that she fell in love with the country.

Hello friends! This week on the say YES to your yourself! podcast Wendy talks with artist and special guest Mercedes Kiss. In this gorgeous conversation they talk about the gift of new friends that feel like lifelong ones, and how our energy can be instantly aligned to another.
Wendy and Mercedes talk about the unconditional love of pets and the parallel they have in teaching us about creating harmony, owning our experience and speaking up for what is sustainable for ourselves. Mercedes shares about a trip to Costa Rica that reconnected herself to what felt correct and true for her, and how this experience led her on a new path. Through that experience she gave herself permission to say ‘if that isn’t right, stop doing it!’. Mercedes made a pivot and consciously chose to say YES to her truth, and to a life full of color and vibrancy.
Get to Know Mercedes
Mercedes Kiss is an artist, designer, dreamer, curator, optimist, and enthusiast.
She was an architect for a decade, based in Washington DC and New York City, designing an eclectic mix of distinctive and character-rich residential, commercial, and hospitality properties for clients both international and domestic.

Her artworks are multimedia collages marrying memories with dreams. And her next major experiential project is part clubhouse, magazine, and party called DISCO IN THE CLOUDS - look out for that starting soon in the fall of 2022. She would love for everyone listening to be a part of it, and you can learn more and join via her website: mercedeskiss.com.
Mercedes now lives in Massachusetts with her recently-wed husband, Josh, and their handsome dog son, Ghost.

Hello friends! This week on the say YES to your yourself! podcast Wendy talks with special guest Chiquita Martin McCoy about saying YES to the power in the pause. That through prioritizing rest we can show up more fully and be the best for ourselves, and others.
Wendy and Chiquita talk about being open to your own expansion and creating space for leaning in to what is calling you. Chiquita recognizes that we don't give ourselves that time to rest and lean into the pause. That it is so important to spend that time with yourself and in those moments allow clarity to flow in.
They also talk about their love of books, collaborating with other women who are looking to embrace the pattern interrupt in order to create that pause and space for themselves. And, how during the pause you can hear your own voice and get to know yourself, all of yourself, fully!

Hello friends! This week on the say YES to your yourself! podcast Wendy talks with special guest Angie Bailey about saying YES to choosing her own health and well-being.
Angie spent years as a registered nurse caring for others while bringing her heart and soul to the work she truly loved. But when changes came that pushed her out of what felt right and aligned, she made the choice to prioritize her health and well-being over the career she loved; choosing joy and creativity as the guides for her new healthy path.
Wendy and Angie talk about how saying YES to yourself opens you up to experiences of limitless joy, and how the ripple effects stay with you long after that first decision!
Angie is a registered nurse, certified IIN Health Coach, Calligraphy Artist and Calligraphy Workshop Facilitator. She has a great appreciation for all the beauty around her; both in art, & in nature.

Oh my word I am so excited for this next season of the podcast! I cannot wait for all the beautiful conversations to come, as we continue to explore growth, connection, and personal transformation.
Let's start by talking about the concept of saying YES to yourself...
It is not about being selfish and more about self-preservation, self-care self-compassion
It is not a middle finger to everyone else, but a warm embrace, starting with you.
It isn’t reactionary, but a response to our current circumstance
It’s a practice, it’s like any muscle that needs exercise, it’s awkward until it’s elegant.
Sometimes is is the gateway to rapid transformation, but most often it is a graceful unfolding, an intentional becoming, of the very best version of yourself
Each week on the say YES to your yourself! podcast you’ll hear stories from women just like us who are adding this practice to their daily lives in big and small ways and as a result are experiencing the truth that everybody wins when you say yes to yourself

This week on the Love Letters, Life & Other Conversations podcast Jane shares an Instagram post from Molly Burford, called"What is Vulnerability" as the springboard for the conversation.
Jane and Wendy talk about how the idea and definition of vulnerability may be different for each person, and that once you decide to be vulnerable, there is no going back. They also talk about how when you speak from a scar versus a wound you have had the time to learn and grow from the experience of being vulnerable.

This week on the Love Letters, Life & Other Conversations podcast Jane shares a quote from Simone de Beauvoir as the springboard for this week's conversation, and also reads a few excerpts from the book, Becoming Beauvoir by Kate Kirkpatrick.
The quote:
'One's life has value so long as one attributes value to the life of others' ~ Simone de Beauvoir
Wendy and Jane talk about how you will find what you are looking for, and if you change your perspective, you can shift what you are calling into you.
And for those of you who love beautiful and interesting words as much as the three of us do, Jane shared that Simone considered herself solipsistic, and 'solipsism is the philosophical idea that only one's mind is sure to exist.'

This week on the Love Letters, Life & Other Conversations podcast Wendy shares her experience listening to Terri Cole speak on two podcast episodes as a springboard for the conversation. She shares about how she is challenging herself to stop saying an automatic yes for seven days. To give thoughtful consideration to the ‘yes’ response vs giving it freely and without thought.
Jane and Wendy also talk about how not only is it important to stop the auto yes, but it is equally important to omit the unnecessary apology, and they discuss the gift (although a bit awkward at first) of a pregnant pause when communicating.

This week on the Love Letters, Life & Other Conversations podcast Jane shares the following writing from @mombrain.therapist as the springboard for the conversation.
