Vic's a classic case of a red flag ignorer.  A binge drinker that disregarded every sign that she was over doing it. No matter how much they flapped, whipping her across the face, she somehow managed to push past, never having to address her over drinking. She failed at school, college, and Uni, blew a finger off with a firework, got in dangerous situations with men, was bloated, had anxiety, people worried about her... the list goes on. 

She simply could not see those big red warning signs!

Us drinkers’ kid ourselves. We tick off the downsides of booze like they are just part and parcel of being sociable. We suffer the hangovers, cringe away the embarrassing behaviour or block out the sloppy sex with a stranger and never stop and question our conduct. Even if the red flags are flying high, we just carry on like party animals until the sun comes up.  

So why do we ignore red flags and how do we tune into them a little earlier on? And do non-problem-drinkers like Hamish get warning signs too?
