In response to the recent events in the US, Faith Fuller is asking: Where do we go from here? This is the same question Martin Luther King Jr wrote a book about in 1967 titled, ‘Where Do We Go from Here: Chaos or Community?’ And to quote king himself: ““In the days ahead we must not consider it unpatriotic to raise certain basic questions about our national character.”
So in this episode, Faith questions what more we can be doing as individuals to take a stand against racism? What are the next steps we can take towards a different kind of future? Whilst one person might not change the world, what they do- or don’t do- will be having an impact and creating a ripple effect.
During this time of upheaval and social conflict going on in the US, CRR Global and the Relationship Matters Podcast supports the stand against systemic racism, racial bias and the history of black community oppression. Relationship matters regardless of race and ethnicity.
We Believe Relationship Matters.
We Believe Black Lives Matter.
We Believe All Voices Matter.
In this episode, Marita is calling for productive dialogue around race and racism. What are the blind spots that stop us from connecting deeply in these kinds of conversations? What questions aren’t we asking? And how might we be missing… what is really being said?
Below are organizations we know about in the US to learn from, get active with, and help each other:

American Civil Liberties Union: https://www.aclu.org/action/
In light of recent events in the US, Faith Fuller is talking about our challenges with talking about racism. In this vulnerable and revealing conversation, Faith asks why so many white people struggle to talk about race and racism and interrogates her own discomfort around the subject. How can we stay in this uncomfortable space so that we can start having the kind of conversations that may lead to change?
In this episode, Faith Fuller is talking about what makes systems coaching different. What are the crossovers between pure coaching and consultancy and what is unique about systems coaching? What do we do? Why do we do it? And how does it help our clients?
Over the course of this conversation we discuss the following topics:
RSI-White-Paper: An Introduction to Relationship Systems Intelligence
In this episode, Marita Frijdhon is talking about system inspired leadership and why it is needed now more than ever. As we say in systems coaching, ‘the whole is greater than the sum of its parts’ and by utilizing this intelligence, teams of all shapes and sizes may find that they not only survive- but thrive- through challenging times. Instead of focusing on the individual mountain that we have to climb, let’s connect with the team around us, and consider what we can do together- today- to create positive change.
Key takeaways from the episode:
In this episode, Faith Fuller is exploring Transparency. Practicing real, authentic transparency can be a very powerful tool- as a coach, a leader and as a human being. Transparency can help to build trust, deepen connections and humanize conversations.
This episode covers the importance of transparency when coaching systems you are a part of; being clear and upfront about hidden agendas; using transparency in emails and texts to offer clarity and also, using it as a tool for flagging intentions.
In this episode, Marita Fridjhon is talking about life-giving and life-draining behaviours. What gives you life and what drains you? And which do you bring more of to your family, colleagues and community?
Over the course of the episode, Marita discusses becoming conscious of life-giving and life-draining qualities, the stages of grief and also takes a look at how the two qualities are more intertwined than we might realise. Can life-giving qualities exist within life-draining experiences, like grief?
In this episode of the Relationship Matters podcast, Faith Fuller is talking about the aftermath of an argument. Arguments are a normal part of relationship. So perhaps we should be less concerned about the amount we argue and more focused on how we argue.
And if we do blow up in relationship and we have a particularly unskillful argument, how can we more consciously recover from the blow and start to repair any damage that we might have created within the relationship? In this episode, we talk about the unwritten rules around our relationships that govern how we behave with our partners, children and colleagues. At CRR Global we refer to these social contracts as designed team alliances (which we refer to in this episode as a DTA). We also talk about how we can use fights as opportunities to learn and grow- both on an individual and an interpersonal level.
Right now, many of our roles have blended together. We might be playing parent, teacher and manager all at the same time because of the lock-down measures brought in by COVID-19.
Often people become identified with the job they are doing, which is what we refer to in this podcast as an “outer role” – like being CEO or cook. Or they identify with an emotional job for which they feel responsible – what we call an “inner role” like being the peacemaker, or the one who speaks up about things.
So join Marita as she talks about the different types of roles and what we might learn from the overlapping of the many roles in our lives. How might we better navigate this juggling of responsibilities, jobs and parts of self? Now and also beyond a time of COVID-19…
What does it mean to be in Right Relationship? In episode 1, Faith Fuller is exploring the many ways we can step into Right Relationship, with our partners, families, colleagues and also with ourselves. What does it mean to be in Right Relationship? And how can we become more conscious and intentional in relationships- particularly during challenging and uncertain times?
