Tune in to learn about the 4 stages of the Sexual Response Cycle and why women are ready to go another round after men are ready to take a nap!

The sexual Response Cycle is 4 stages: Excitement (arousal), Plateau, Orgasm, and Resolution.

Excitement (arousal): Increased blood flow, heart rate increase, desire, libido, nipple stimulation, increase in oxytocin, erection with men, and clitoral erection with women. Mental stimulation is important for most women.

Plateau: Breathing becomes more rapid and the muscles continue to tense. The glans at the head of the penis swells and the testes enlarge in the male and in the female, the outer vagina contracts and the clitoris retracts.

Orgasm: the climax of the sexual response cycle. It's the shortest of the phases and generally lasts only a few seconds.

Resolution: The body slowly returns to its normal level of functioning and swelled and erect body parts return to their previous size and color. Fatigue often happens in this phase. Some women are capable of a rapid return to the orgasm phase with further sexual stimulation and may experience multiple orgasms. Men typically need recovery time after orgasm.

About 40% of women are post-menopausal and lubricants can help tremendously. Lubricants decrease friction for masturbation and sexual intercourse. Women deal with dry vaginas at different times of the month along with birth controls and medications that can cause dryness.

Lubricants can aid in lengthy sexual intercourse. It can be used vaginally, anally, orally, and in masturbation.

Oil's made for cooking is not meant for sexual intercourse. This can mess with the PH levels in women that can lead to infections. Preservatives in lube can also lead to infection so do your research.

Different types of lubricants:
- Water
- Oil
- Silicone
- Hybrid

Water-based is good for PH balance, vaginal intercourse, and masturbation but it does dry quickly so it may need to be used more often. It is good with condoms and toys.

Oil-based is not typically safe for toys. The one in RMD's office is safe for toys. Oil-based does not work well with condoms.

Silicone is thicker and better for anal and water play. It is safe for condoms and bad for toys.

Finding the one that works for you is important. Non-irritating, long-lasting, paraben and glucose-free, and organic are preferred.

Not only is Fotona4D known as the non-surgical facelift but it is now known as the non-surgical makeover for the vagina!

ReviyalyzeMD’s Skin specialist Meredith, NP Farideh, and Medical Aesthetician join Dr. Durst in the studio to discuss Fotona 4D for the vagina. The ladies return from a conference in Dallas with Fotona and are sharing the new treatment plan they learned!

It can be paired with Votiva or O-shot. It is robotic and more uniform. Dr. Durst used to think of Fotona for the vagina for lightening the outside and Votiva for tightening. The Fotona4D is now the major tightening of the vagina along with lightening! It is easier and better for the laser technicians and better for the patient in the same amount of time. 

Step 1 tightens on the inside. Step 2 is heat and hair removal. Step 3 is rejuvenation and stimulation along with clit stimulation. Step 4 is the tightening step with AMAZING results! The last step is resurfacing along with lightening and brightening much like the face. Numbing is not necessary unless needed for the last step. 

There is not much downtime after this treatment. The next 24 hours are not recommended for sexual intercourse with the resurfacing step. The treatment itself is not uncomfortable.

It is a progressive gynecological skin condition. This can also happen in uncircumcised men. Pre-puberty or Post-Menopause patients deal with this LS. 

2020 National Journal of Women’s Health says it is very rare but it happens 1/70 women and is more common than we realize. Symptoms and Diagnosis happen between 5-15 years. Tenderness, itching, burning, bruising, sours, bleeding, tearing, and irritation, Pain, wrinkles, white spots, and inflammation are some of the symptoms with Lichen Sclerosus. 

It is very important for you to “interview” your primary care doctor on treatment plans as a part of doing your research.

The earlier treatment most traditional doctors use is a topical steroid cream which has adverse side effects such as thinning.

Dr. Durst and Farideh are going to do a deeper dive into this to show dietary effects on this form of inflammation along with other root causes. 

Regenerating is the only way to help with the type of serious skin condition. PRP and laser treatments are two treatments to get regeneration of an area at a cellular level. 

O-shot with PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is one of the popular treatments RevitalyzeMD does to treat Lichen Sclerosus. Dr. Durst takes a deeper dive into how PRP treats this condition and what happens during this procedure. Numbing and blocks are done before. The injection may cause a little swelling after. Growth factors and stem cells communicate and repair to grow new vaginal cells. This treatment does not have an adverse effect or downtime.

RMD's NP Farideh joins Dr. Durst in the studio to explain PT-141, what it is and what it does.

PT-141 is Bremelanotide.  Dr. Durst explains what the peptide contains and how it works. PT-141 is the peptide for better orgasms. It is for men and women. 

It comes in several forms. Injectables and Nasal sprays are the two most popular forms that Dr. Durst and Farideh prefer an hour before sexual activity. It can be effective in 30 minutes or several hours. Everyone is different so it depends on the patient. It is known to give men confidence back with erections. It improves orgasm strength and experience. 

Nausea is the main side-effect of PT-141. Flushing is another side-effect but not to the same extent as nausea.

Dr. Durst is joined by RMD’s NP Farideh to discuss Peyronie’s disease. 

It is caused by trauma to the penis and isn’t always known. Small injuries repeatedly happening can also cause it. Farideh discusses what it is in detail. About 80% of men with Peyronie’s disease do not know when the trauma happened. Shape is one of the first ways to notice something is off. Scar tissue is the reason why this happens. 

It is a progressive issue which means the earlier it is noticed, the better it is to treat. The acute and early phase is when treatment needs to come in.

There are several ways to treat Peyronie’s disease in the beginning stages. Shockwave therapy (Gainswave used by RMD) breaks down the fibrous tissue for remodeling with collagen and increases blood flow. Dr. Durst goes into detail on how Gainswave can treat acute Peyronie’s. 

P-shots are always recommended to pair with a Gainswave. On-going sustained results is the goal. Dr. Durst and Farideh dive in to how this can really help Peyronie’s Disease before it leads to erectile dysfunction.
