In this episode, I’m thrilled to introduce Beth Porter, an incredibly talented artist and co-owner of Wet Dog Tile Company. Beth shares her journey from a fine arts background to becoming a trailblazer in custom tile artistry.
Wet Dog Tile Company is known for its unique, multi-textural tile designs that go beyond traditional forms, incorporating mixed media, organic shapes, and, often, personal touches that make each project one-of-a-kind. Wet Dog creates tiles that defy typical geometric shapes—think starfish-shaped tiles rather than standard square tiles. The designs range from ocean-inspired themes to custom pet portraits and are crafted using a mix of ceramic, glass mosaics, crushed glass, and pebbles to add texture and color.
Beth shares how the company name was inspired by her involvement in animal rescue and living in a coastal town. What started as a hobby has grown into a full-fledged business, creating tiles for spaces all over the country.
