The fascinating thing about mortality, is that it's not just about one's lifespan. It's also about all of our little moments, and the fleeting nature of human existence. Similar to the compulsion of the brain and the nervous system to "protect" us from our big feelings with our pain, our attention is so easily ripped away from the things we most value.
