Seahawks Forever w/ Dan Viens

Once again the Seahawks find themselves needing a win and a Green Bay loss on the final weekend of the season to sneak into the playoffs, and once again it's due to a bad defensive performance in their latest loss, 30-23 to the Steelers.

Since then, Pete Carroll has said he knows how to fix the defensive issues they're having, and will have them ready to play this Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.

But... haven't we heard this before? Is this yet another broken record of broken promises?

I'll compare some other Carroll quotes about this same issue from the last couple seasons, as well as dive into two other areas of the team where there seem to be huge disconnects and dysfunction right now.

What better way to preview Sunday's crucial upcoming matchup between the Seahawks and Steelers than with someone who covers the opposing team, right?

This week, Jeff Hartman of the Steel Curtain Network asked ME to come on HIS show, and we turned it into a collaborate effort.

Listen in as Jeff and I trade questions about each others teams, and break down what promises to be an intriguing clash between two teams desperate to solidify their playoff standing, and who have a surprising number of similarities.

For the second week in a row, the Seattle Seahawks starting quarterback led them on a long, last-minute touchdown drive to pull out an important win.... only this time it was Geno Smith instead of Drew Lock.

Facing the Tennessee Titans in his first game back after missing two games due to injury, Smith shook off some first-half rust in leading the Seahawks to yet another come-from-behind win. And this one was big.... improving the Seahawks record to 8-7 and putting them back in the drivers seat for a wild card playoff spot.

In this RAPID REACTION episode I'll share my immediate thoughts about what we saw in this game: the good, the bad, and the misunderstood.

Go Hawks!

Former Washington high school QB legend, USC Trojan and Pitt Panther Max Browne joins me to talk quarterbacks!!

**What has he seen from Drew Lock and his progression?

**Could the Seahawks be in prime position to draft a QB in 2024?

**Breaking down the top prospects in this class - are there 4 first-rounders? 5? SIX?!

**Trying to identify the "next Brock Purdy".... a day 3 prospect who could turn out to be a stud.

And much more!!!!!!

In what was an ugly game that didn't seem to be going the Seahawks way for most of the night, Seattle pulled out a stunning upset on Monday Night Football, snapping a 4-game losing streak with their 20-17 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

With Drew Lock once again starting for an injured Geno Smith, the Eagles seemed to control the game for most of the night, even with an under-the-weather Jalen Hurts playing at less than his typical stellar self.

But with under 2 minutes to play, Lock took over and engineered a 92 yard drive, accounting for all of it in the air including two big plays to DK Metcalf, and the game-winning 29 yard TD pass to rookie WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

Watch for my rapid reaction here.....

With speculation mounting that Pete Carroll may not be back at the helm in 2024, former Seahawk legend KJ Wright revealed some uneasy truths about what he feels is a lack of leadership in Seattle's locker room, specifically at a KEY position!

ICYMI, I'll replay those comments and react to them.

Can this all be fixed in time to beat a struggling Eagles team on MNF and salvage their season?

Is Pete coaching for his job?

This latest loss to the 49ers, a 28-16 drubbing that was worse than the score indicated and dropped the Seahawks to 6-7 on the season.... may be the most indicative example or why changes may be needed at the top in Seattle.

Just how good are the 49ers and what am I expecting from the Seahawks this Sunday in Santa Clara? Using the latest DVOA rankings I’ll try and paint the picture of where these two teams fit in the NFC, and what I’m hoping to see from the Seahawks this week.

Worried about the Seahawks 2024 salary cap? I’m here for you! I took a deep dive behind the numbers, made some tough personnel decisions, and figured out a way to build a CONTENDER for 2024!! In today’s episode I’ll detail it all, including how to bring back the Hawks key free agents AND set up the QB position for long-term stability.

With 5 games left in the regular season the Seahawks are now on the outside of the playoff picture looking in, with two more games against the NFC’s best teams preceding a (presumably) more forgiving finishing stretch. As we come down the stretch, jobs may be on the line both on the field and in the coaching booth. In this episode I assess who I think has the most to prove (and potentially lose) over these next 5-6 weeks.
