This week I spoke with author Mary Jelkovsky. Mary asked me on her podcast a couple months ago and when we recorded that interview we recorded one for Let It Out too. In the first half of this episode, Mary and I talk about how our difference in age impacts how we each use social media and technology, including how at only 16 she became an influencer as a fitness model, which led her to disordered eating, into recovery, and eventually to the work she’s doing now to help women accept their bodies and let go of food and body obsession.
She’s written a best-selling book and accompanying journal, and over the past 5 years, she's been featured in TEDx, Teen Vogue, Shape, and Health Magazine. She also hosts the podcast Mary’s Cup of Tea, and the second half of this episode is part of my interview as a guest there. We talk about how orthorexia led me to create a blog that became a podcast about wellness, and how I eventually transitioned it beyond that niche to what it is now. We also cover the mindset (and fears) of a freelancer and within creative projects, the importance of evolution, and tools and resources I’ve found useful. I loved meeting her and these conversations, and hope to have many more—let us know if you listen.
