In this episode of the Sober Vibes Podcast, I’m talking about something that every person in recovery experiences at one point or another — anxiety.
I share about my own recent bout with anxiety and what it taught me about slowing down, listening to my body, and giving myself the compassion I deserve. Sobriety doesn’t make us immune to anxious thoughts or feelings, but it does give us the tools to honor them instead of trying to numb them.
Remember: you’re not broken. You’re human, and you’re healing. Anxiety isn’t a setback, it’s your body asking you to pay attention.
This episode serves as a reminder that we’re all works in progress, and it’s okay to take a breath and recalibrate.
Thank you for being here and for taking the time to care for yourself today.

In this Livin on the El-Ledge episode — the show within the Sober Vibes Podcast — my sister Kimberly Elledge and I talk about something we know all too well: being comfortable in chaos.
We unpack why so many of us who’ve lived with addiction or dysfunction gravitate toward chaos, and how it becomes “normal.” More importantly, we share what it takes to break that pattern and begin building calm, healthy stability in sobriety.
Healing starts when peace stops feeling boring and starts feeling safe.
This conversation continues what we touched on in Episode 81 (Why Do Functioning Alcoholics Get a Pass?), so make sure to listen to that one, too.

In this episode of the Sober Vibes Podcast, I sit down with Sally Metelerkamp to talk about what it’s really like to support a parent through addiction.
Sally opens up about her personal journey, how growing up with a mother living with addiction shaped her understanding of recovery, boundaries, and emotional healing. We talk about what it means to love someone struggling with addiction without losing yourself, and how to find your own peace through compassion and healthy limits.
Healing isn’t just for the person with the addiction; it’s for the family, too.
Sally is the founder and CEO of Lived, a platform created to transform how people access support for life’s biggest challenges, starting with alcohol. Her mission is to change the conversation around addiction and make recovery more accessible, informed, and human.
Thank you for listening and for being part of a community that believes in breaking cycles with love and truth.

In this episode of the Sober Vibes Podcast, I’m sharing how to approach sober holidays like St. Patrick’s Day with confidence, peace, and a little fun, too!
Whether you’re newly sober or years into recovery, holidays can bring up old habits and expectations, but they don’t have to derail your progress. I talk about what celebrating looks like in sobriety, and I give you one simple thing to do that will protect your peace and support your long-term recovery (and yes, I’m giving you permission to do it!).
You can enjoy holidays your way, no hangovers, no guilt, just freedom.
Thank you for listening, and for choosing a life that’s true to you.

It’s another Livin on the El-Ledge week — the show within the Sober Vibes Podcast!
In this episode, my sister Kimberly Elledge and I dive deep into a big question: Why do functioning alcoholics and addicts get a pass?
We unpack what it really means to be “high-functioning,” how society often overlooks addiction when it’s masked by success or stability, and how those same patterns can keep people stuck for years. This conversation is honest, raw, and full of the real talk that’s needed when it comes to understanding the layers of addiction and recovery.
Just because someone “seems fine” doesn’t mean they aren’t struggling. Sobriety is about healing what the world can’t always see.
Thank you for tuning in. We hope this episode helps you look at addiction and recovery through a more compassionate lens.

In this episode of the Sober Vibes Podcast, I sit down with Daniel Patterson to talk about the Daddy Drinking Culture, yes, it’s real, and it’s just as complex and damaging as the Mommy Wine Culture.
Daniel shares his personal story of addiction and recovery, and we dive deep into how societal pressures and stress can normalize drinking for fathers and men — often at the expense of their mental health and relationships.
We also talk about parenting, education, and what it really means to model emotional sobriety and self-awareness for the next generation.
This is a powerful conversation about responsibility, healing, and creating a new, sober standard for what “strong” really looks like.
Daniel Patterson has over twenty years of experience in secondary education and currently serves as the Director of Education for Visions Day School and PACE Academy. He’s the author of The Assertive Parent, RECOVER[edu], and SOBERTUNITY, and has been featured in The LA Times, HuffPost, NBC News, and more.
Thank you for tuning in and for continuing to challenge cultural norms with me.

In this episode of the Sober Vibes Podcast, I’m talking about something that so many people in recovery face — what to do when your partner just doesn’t get it.
Maybe they don’t understand addiction, don’t relate to your decision to quit drinking, or struggle to adjust to your alcohol-free lifestyle. Whatever the situation, I share one simple (but powerful) tip that can help you navigate this dynamic with more peace, clarity, and compassion.
Remember, your sobriety is about you, not about convincing anyone else to understand it. Focus on staying grounded, confident, and connected to your “why.”
Thank you for listening, and for continuing to grow with me each week!

In this episode of the Sober Vibes Podcast, I sit down with Veronica Valli to talk about one of the biggest questions in recovery — why does quitting drinking feel so hard?
Veronica shares her story of addiction, long-term sobriety, and how she’s helped thousands of people overcome the emotional and psychological pull of alcohol. We dig into “The Alcohol Lie,” the belief that alcohol makes life better, when in truth, it holds us back from living fully.
Together, we unpack why early sobriety can feel uncomfortable, what’s really happening in your brain and body during that adjustment, and the mindset shifts that make long-term recovery possible.
Sobriety isn’t about losing joy, it’s about removing what’s been numbing it.
Veronica Valli is a former psychotherapist, sobriety coach, author, and co-host of the Soberful Podcast. Sober for over 21 years, she’s spoken internationally at events like Women for Sobriety and Soberistas, helping people reclaim their power and build meaningful, alcohol-free lives.

In this episode of the Sober Vibes Podcast, I’m talking about one of the most important foundations for lasting recovery — daily structure.
When you’ve lived in chaos for so long, structure can feel strange at first, but over time, it becomes something you crave. Routine creates peace, stability, and space for healing. In this episode, I share how building simple, supportive routines has transformed my own sobriety and mental health, and how you can start doing the same.
You don’t have to plan every minute of your day you just need consistency, intention, and a few small habits that help you stay grounded and calm.
