It's Diving Week here at TSFU! Ok y'all knoooow I love an acronym but I really did think that "Deadly Deep Diving Disaster" was the most apropos description for this episode!

As most of you know, I'm currently in Denmark and am in a pretty rural location with very spotty internet, so I'm currently at a coffee shop with wifi to get you your goodies (aka episodes lol)! And... what's kind of funny is that this episode is co-hosted again by Celi, but also by my Danish boyfriend, executive producer of the show and former diving instructor, Martin Soderhamn!

In today's episode Martin tells Ash and Celi about the story of David Shaw, an experienced technical diver who planned to dive into Boesmansgat (known as Bushman’s Hole in English) in South Africa, to retrieve the body of Deon Dreyer, a diver who met his face in its darkness 10 years earlier. In our second episode, Kristal dives into the second book of the Old Testament, Exodus. She talks about the plagues brought upon Egypt by God, who seemed to be on both Joseph and Pharaoh's side, it's very confusing. Then, the Israelites finally make it out of Egypt only to wander around the desert for years, following God, who generally took the shape of a pillar of smoke. The "chosen people" are not stoked.

This week, Ash and Celi talk about giant squids. Ash's found a whole new thing to fear in the ocean as she's now learned that giant squids are even more aggressive than sharks. The Humboldt Squid or "Rojo Diablo" can grow up to 14 ft and 700 lbs, with 24,000 razor sharp teeth, 8 tentacles with a death like suction and grip, and a ferociously powerful beak. They've been known to hunt in packs, devouring local Mexican fishermen. And that's just one of the types of scary squids that the gals cover this week!

Natalia Grace Barnett- conniving little person or abandoned little girl? Natalia suffers from a severe form of dwarfism and was adopted by the Barnett family in 2010. The Barnetts were told that she was 6 years old, but they now say that they experienced something akin to the 2009 horror film Orphan, about a family who adopt a 9 year old girl with a mysterious past, who ends up being a murderous adult woman with dwarfism posing as a child. Natalia's side of the story, along with that of a few other people, is much different. This one is a head scratcher for sure folks!
