  • BITES **** -- "The Prince and the Soccer Ball" by Donna Washington with guest Cole Wissinger
From time to time, we'll post what we call a BITE ("like a regular episode, only shorter!"). We always hope that the stories you listen to on The Apple Seed will spark memories and thoughts that you can share with the ones you love -- perhaps even the people with whom you listen to the show. In a BITE, we'll listen to a single story -- one that we love -- and invite friends to share memories and thoughts that occur to them as they listen to it.

Ever make up stories with your young ones? Hopefully this story called "The Prince and the Soccer Ball" by Donna Washington - and her kids - will inspire you to get creative. Sam is joined in the studio by Cole Wissinger, Host of BYU Radio's Screen Cleaning and Cougar Tailgate.

  • Wilde Roses
Stories often come from a time before our own, offering us both a window into the past and a font of inspiration in the present. This is especially the case with books, which can often survive hundreds, even thousands of years beyond the author. Today, we’ll be listening to a few stories inspired by famous literature, from the novels of Victorian England to the Jewish texts of the Warsaw ghetto. You’ll hear from Anne Rutherford, Robin Schulte, and Susan Stone, but you’ll also hear from the authors of old that inspired them: Oscar Wilde, John Keats, Jane Austen, and Rabbi Shapira. Join the Apple Seed team as we listen to storytellers across time!
