This week Debbie talks with her friend Halley Bock about how to make real change and become a better version of yourself in 2016. Whether your goal is to perform better in a race, lose weight or stick to a 21 day sugar detox, if you keep doing the same thing, you can only expect things to stay the same. It is time to take an alternative direction in how we set goals and how to create action plan to improve ourselves… change your mind set by working from the inside out.
Both Debbie and Halley have five suggestions to work from the inside out, instead of the other way around as in most weight loss or detox programs:
Look at the WHOLESTIC method to improved fat loss, health and performance
Hire a coach to help you look at the root causes by breaking down goals to get deeper …unveil layers to discover to root cause as losing weight isn’t about just going on another diet. Slow down during the day and pause and remember to breath.Turn off the cell phone and focus on what you are doing and who you are with each day.Whether you’re in training, detoxing or losing weight, sleep is huge… make it a priority everyday so you can stay on top of your game.Use morning rituals to make your day ahead positive. Each day is a gift… the present.Disconnecting so we can connect to ourselves instead
Whether it is meditation, cycling, journaling or something else create a Daily Practice that’s just for you. Take an inventory of yourself every day.Close the Day with expressions of gratitude. Connect to what’s meaningful to you while manifesting more of the same. Before engaging in an activity (meeting, phone call, conversation, workout), set an intention for yourself grounded in the “WHY” or the present moment.Find ways to give: R.A.C.K. It Up (Random Acts of Caring & Kindness) because what we do for others, we also do for ourselves.Multi-tasking is a disease. Do. One. Thing. At. A. Time. What Debbie and Halley both agree on is that fitness is a mental and emotional journey as well as a physical one.
