It’s my anniversary! Yes, I’ve been working with counsellors and therapists to help grow their practice for 5 years (ok, a bit longer than that, but what’s a few months between friends?). And I’ve come a long way and learned a lot in that time - and am still learning.
But there are 5 main things I’ve learned about working with counsellors in that time and I talk about them in this episode.
In this episode we explore:To be honest, I’ve learned way, way more than 5 things, and this episode could have ended up being hours long!
I’ve had a blast running the Grow Your Private Practice membership. I’d like to thank all the members both past and present for trusting in me, and I’ve really enjoyed hearing about your successes.
I hate when members leave, but when its because they are at capacity, then it makes me a very happy person and I realise all the hard work has been worth it.

It’s the next episode of 'Jane Explains' where I answer your questions about growing your private practice.
Today’s question is from Janice where she asks:

Great question Janice! I’m sure many counsellors have wondered about how to use social media while protecting both themselves and their clients confidentiality
In this episode of Jane Explains, I’ll share:
Do you have a question you’d like me to answer? If so, just drop me a line at [email protected] and I could answer your question in the next episode of Jane Explains.

Are you ready to stop overthinking and start taking action to grow your practice?
It can be easy to overcomplicate your decision making and start second-guessing yourself.
And the fear of making the wrong choice can leave you in Limbo and stop you from taking action. I’m not sure if this is perfectionism, or a kind of procrastination - probably elements of both - but it’s something that is basically wasting your precious time - time that could be better spent.
In this episode, I’ll help you work through your overthinking with:

Do you feel nervous posting on social media?
We're told as therapists that personal disclosure is bad, so it can be really confusing about what's okay to post and what’s not okay. It could be tricky to find your own boundaries while staying ethical.
So all of that, coupled with the feeling of pressure on social media to be popular, be perfect, keep up with everybody else, take the best pictures, write the best captions... well, the whole posting on social media thing can be pretty daunting.
In this episode we explore:Take a listen and learn a simple action step to help you stop feeling nervous about posting on social media.
And if you need more help with feeling comfortable growing your business online, I’d love to see you join us in the Grow Your Private Practice membership.
