The Divas (aka Chavi and Kim) are founders and leaders of the very successful real estate team, Team Diva Real Estate, in Seattle, WA.
Years ago the Divas wanted to create a real estate movement that better reflected their community. It was extremely important to the Divas that a black person can go into real estate and become a top producer. Or, a young person with a creative background can have a healthy career. Over the years the Divas have taken this vision and have grown a top producing team at Coldwell Banker.
They have been recognized by Inman News twice for their Innovation practices. In addition to these awards, the Divas have stayed rooted in the activism of their community. In 2012 they helped to lead the effort to pass marriage equality.
For years they brought attention to the growing homeless issues (specifically LGBTQ youth) in Seattle. They also went against their own association to advocate for more funding for education. Over the last few years, the Divas have focused on fundraising, organizing, and leading voter mobilization efforts to support disenfranchised voters in our country. Black Lives Matters every day. Team Diva recognizes that the real estate industry practices have resulted in the displacement of the Black community in Seattle through gentrification and that we conduct business on land that was stolen from the Duwamish (doo-WAH-mish) people.
In this episode the Divas and I chat about real estate, activism, politics, LGBTQ, inclusion, raising a middle schooler during a pandemic...and so much more!
Big thanks to Chavi and Kim for this candid conversation!
