This week we heard the Australian housing market continued its growth in July. But while house prices are still going up, they're not going up as fast as they have been, and it could be due to a group of Aussies who have just fully realised the impact of all these rate rises. Experts have raised concerns about the potential effects on property values, housing affordability, and overall financial stability.
In this episode of The Quicky, we take a look at how those who have just, or are just about to fall off the mortgage cliff can halt the fall and what it means for the housing market.

Australia loves soft drink, but with growing concerns around our health, doctors are calling for a sugar tax.
But what exactly is a sugar tax? Would it impact all food items that contain sugar, or just soft drinks? And does it actually work to motivate people into choosing healthier options when perusing the supermarket aisles.
In this episode of The Quicky, we explore the concept of a Sugar Tax in Australia and find out where that money goes once it's in the governments hands.

On Friday, the UN claimed that the era of global warming was over, that now, we have entered a new phase of climate change - global boiling.
The evidence is clear, the world is getting hotter and with wildfires now forcing people to flee parts of Greece while also threatening several other European countries, those places we flock to during Australia’s colder months are starting to look like they may not be the ideal escape in the future.
We look at where our European and Australian Summer holidays are headed as the UN tells us climate change isn't on the horizon... it’s here

Twitter is dead...no, not literally, the website and app are still alive and well, but it's not called Twitter anymore. And the little blue bird is gone. New owner, millionaire Elon Musk, has rebranded it as X.
The response has been varied. Some say it brings the social media platform into line with his other businesses and makes it completely his...others say it's the final nail in the coffin and have found the exit door.
In this episode of The Quicky, we look at what the hell is happening at Twitter...I mean X, headquarters and why this might be more than just a new logo.
