Combining her experience as a former member of the International Federation of Journalists and her research expertise, Dr. Sara created and hosted a program on sexuality and relationship issues for BBC World Service called The Whispers, which received the BBC’s Innovation of the Year Award in 2007. The program was the first of its kind in the Middle East and is still being broadcast, continuing to reach millions of Farsi-speaking viewers across the globe.

Dr. Nasserzadeh is also a prolific and award-winning author with three books, several book chapters, peer-reviewed articles and white papers to her credit. Her new book, Love By Design: 6 Ingredients for a lifetime of love, is based on research with hundreds of couples over a decade.

Her research has attempted to address gaps in the scientific literature regarding the neural basis of human sexuality, and as a result, has garnered international attention.

Dr. Nan’s interest in the biology of emotional well-being is both personal and professional. She was born into a family predisposed to anxiety and suffered her first panic attack at age 21 while working at a psychiatric hospital. Although she initially grappled with feelings of shame and embarrassment, she discovered that her willingness to be authentic about her own struggles proved to be a major breakthrough. By accepting her anxiety and embracing her personal quest to find ways to loosen and soften around it, she became a lifelong student and teacher of what she needed (and continues to need) to practice and learn.
