Today, Jill and I have an in depth conversation regarding adrenal health, burnout and how you can support your body. In the past, Jill struggled with her own health issues such as headaches, digestive issues and hormonal issues followed by burnout. That combined with witnessing her mothers auto immune health struggles along with her health proactivity, contributed to Jill's interest in pursuing a career in the health and wellness field.

Jill combines functional nutrition and a scientific approach. She offers 1 on 1 coaching as well as online workshops.
Jill was born and raised in the Yukon and grew up on an elk farm. She grew up surrounded by nature and animals and lived a life that included hunting/fishing, gardening, and living off the land to some extent.
In the past, Jill struggled with her own health issues such as headaches, digestive issues, and hormonal issues followed by burnout. That combined with witnessing her mother's autoimmune health struggles along with her health proactivity, contributed to Jill's interest in pursuing a career in the health and wellness field.
Jill recently moved to BC to try it out and escape the long Yukon winters. When she's not working with clients or creating helpful online content, you can find her out hiking in the forest with her dog Garvey or hanging at home (introverting).

In this episode, I discuss the topic of masculine and feminine energies that have been coming up in quite a few of my programs recently. This ebb and flow of energies can show up in the boundaries we set for ourselves or how we structure and schedule our lives. The beauty of it is there is a balance and dance between the two, not a black and white mentality.

In this episode, I am joined by two-time author, Shantelle Bisson. Her Amazon bestseller and a second nonfiction book, Parenting Your Teen Without Losing Your Cool, is a thought-provoking, fun, light-hearted handbook that helps parents raise functioning adults during the challenging days of navigating teendom when all you seem to do is "lose your cool."
We have a conversation about parenting and how to raise your children without losing your cool or your mind. Shantelle found that she didn't have the right tools or resources when raising her children and would often feel "hot-headed" in parenting moments. Today we are sharing exactly what those tools and resources are.

Two-time author Shantelle Bisson was born and raised in Toronto and splits her time between Toronto, sunny Los Angeles, and her marina that she purchased in 2018, Shantilly's Place, in the Kawartha region of Ontario. Her Amazon bestseller and a second nonfiction book, Parenting Your Teen Without Losing Your Cool, is a thought-provoking, fun, light-hearted handbook that helps parents raise functioning adults during the challenging days of navigating teendom when all you seem to do is "lose your cool." Along with being an author and producer, Shantelle, a recovering actress, has three beautiful daughters and one four-legged son with her husband, Yannick Bisson, star of Canada's number one drama series, CBC's Murdoch Mysteries. Shantelle has recently expanded her Without Losing Your Cool brand with a three-month daily journal, and a weekly podcast; that can be found on all your favourite podcast channels.
Shantelle also gives back to her community: she's on the committee of Childhood Cancer Canada and has been co-chairing their main fundraising event, The Purple Party (now One Golden Night) since 2012. Her involvement has helped raise more than $1.5 million to date. She's so passionate about the work that CCC does for kids fighting cancer that she recently joined their board. Shantelle and her husband also give generously to the APJ fund, supporting kids in Haiti by sponsoring their secondary school. Additionally, they sit on its Canadian Board and Advisory Board. As a childhood sexual abuse survivor, Shantelle recently joined forces with Boost for Kids, an organization that supports children who have experienced sexual abuse. All under one roof, they collaborate with police, child protection, and medical and mental health agencies to provide an individualized and child-friendly response for every single child who has sadly experienced abuse. Shantelle's life has been centred around children since she became pregnant with her first daughter at nineteen, so it comes as no surprise that her charitable endeavours focus primarily on kids in need, and she writes books to help raise them well.
Shantelle Bisson's mission is to educate, support, and uplift parents through humor and authenticity while they're in the thick of the biggest jobs of their lives: raising their children! My goal is to empower parents to raise kind, generous, thoughtful, empathetic, tolerant, and resilient humans who will go out into the world and leave it better than how they found it, all without losing their cool.

In this episode, I am joined by our newest Simplicity Team member, Megan Kroeker. We talk about how Megan found a balance between Western & Functional Medicine after being literally hit by a truck, and how you can find this balance for yourself too.

Connect with Megan -
Megan Kroeker is a resilient, driven, passionate woman that doesn't accept the status quo when it comes to health. She is a nurse practitioner and Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Provider (IFMCP). Megan not only understands how our traditional healthcare system works, she is also a critical thinker that loves to look for bigger solutions that don't fit a simple algorithm.
When Megan was challenged with sudden health issues after an accident, she recognized the flaws in our system. So often we are only offered tests without answers or a pill as a solution. Megan realized the importance of addressing the root cause of illness. She began experimenting with diet, exercise, mindset as well as other lifestyle interventions to achieve an optimal level of health. This led Megan to want to help others in the same way.
Megan knows that each woman's situation is unique, and we all have individual challenges that need to be addressed. We have the opportunity to be resilient and bounce back, learning and growing from these situations. Megan has a passion for learning and sharing her knowledge with her clients so they can also up-level their health and feel their best!
Megan is an avid runner, loves being in the kitchen and spending time outdoors with her family, surrounded by nature.

In this episode, I take a reflective look at my old routines and how my views of morning routines changed in early 2020. There is beauty in routine, but only when it aligns with your body. I share how I adjusted my morning regime to be a more cyclical approach. If you feel like you are following a routine because you "have to" and not because you "want to"... this episode is for you.
If you have a question for me and my team, send it over to [email protected] or via Instagram at @jennpike and I'll do my best to share helpful insights, thoughts, and advice.
