“Addictive personality” or ADHD...? I’m starting to think addiction has a lot in common with the hyperfixation that comes with ADHD. Of course, there’s the physical side of addiction, where your body becomes dependent on a substance, but the mental side could have a lot to do with hyperfixation and the dopamine chase. Today, we’re diving into how this can show up in everyday life beyond alcohol, from relationships and hobbies to food and more.

I made a video that sparked a LOT of debate, so naturally, we’re taking the conversation to the podcast. I believe there’s a difference between choosing not to drink, and being sober -and that not everyone who abstains from alcohol is also sober/ in recovery.
In this episode, we’re unpacking the difference between being a non-drinker and being someone who had to quit drinking because alcohol became a problem, why the distinction matters, and why the word “sober” can mean something very different depending on your relationship with alcohol.

If you’ve been wondering whether it might be time to quit, this episode is for you.

In this episode, I’m taking you along on my trip to Poland, where I found myself tempted by alcohol, navigating drinking culture, and being forced to explain my sobriety to complete strangers.
I’m sharing how I stayed strong, practical tips for declining alcohol in group settings, and some of the interesting thoughts about how society normalizes drinking so much. If you’ve ever felt awkward, pressured, or unsure of what to say when you don’t drink, this one’s for you.

You might notice that I rarely use the words “alcoholic” or “addict” in my episodes -and there’s a reason for that.
In this episode, I’m sharing why I personally don’t identify with these labels, what they mean to me, and why I believe you can be sober without seeing yourself as diseased, sick, or powerless over alcohol.
And to be clear: if these words resonate with you, that’s great! This isn’t about telling you what you should or shouldn’t call yourself. It’s about knowing that you have a choice.
If you’ve ever felt like the traditional language around sobriety didn’t quite fit you, this episode is for you.
